Notable changes
Data collection in ON by default on all the websites users visit, but in v1.18, users can choose to turn it OFF by the switch of a toggle in the Data Manager’s header. So far, this option was only offered on a site-by-site basis (from the Toolbar). This new toggle puts more power in the users’ hands and lets them wait until they are fully comfortable with this powerful feature to (re-)switch the option ON. For more about the value of this feature please read our article What is the Data Manager and why should I use it?.
Users now enjoy a different welcome experience if they registered on their mobile device first or if they are discovering Privowny App on their computer. This makes it possible to better explain the differences between the 2 products when appropriate for the user.
The Smartfield Icon’s visibility has been greatly improved. It is still discreet, but is less opaque and is now shown when the focus is on the input field as well as directly on top of the icon.
The possibility to sort by Company has been added in the Data Manager (it was already available in the other Managers).
The “contact us” form is now accessible from the first drop-down menu list in the Settings. This way, users don’t have to go and dig for it further in the arborescence of the menu and can reach the support team easily.
Notable bug fixes
The input fields in online forms that are meant for long text (like comments or chats for example) are now automatically excluded from data collection. This kind of data is often not relevant for archiving or worthy of being encrypted or autofilled at any point and it can be very lengthy. It didn’t bring a lot of user value and risked burdening the Data Manager with a lot of useless data.
The button to validate the creation of the Master Key was sometimes unreachable since it would be at the bottom of a screen with no scrolling option. This is now fixed.
In some cases the Main Window would fail to open after clicking on the “Privowny Autofill” icon in the navigation bar or it would open and close right away. It has been fixed.
The Smartfield Icon failed to recognize the email field on Rainforestqa.com.
The Smartfield Icon in the email field on Eventbrite.com was not responding.
On groupon.com the Smartfield Icon was confusing the field “Current Password” with the field “New Password”.

expedia.com has a bug that blocks the creation of an account with an alias email address on some devices. This is not linked to the validity of the alias though, and you can use the same alias to create an account from a different device.
