The registration process has been completely redefined.
Privowny App is now using a new password scoring algorithm, called zxcvbn, to help users create a strong password for their Privowny App account. Learn more about zxcvbn
Users are also warned if the password they choose is compromised (has been hacked in the past according to the website haveIbeenpwned.com) so they can choose another one. Learn more about haveIbeenpwned.com
Privowny’s privacy pledge is now unveiled in a more transparent manner before users are asked to agree to the Terms and Conditions.
Colored screens have been added at the end of the registration process to quickly introduce each Manager and their look.
Thanks to major improvements of Privowny App’s AI and better detection of the nature of online fields, the Smartfield Icons’ drop-down menus are now better suited to users’ needs depending on the context.
The Master Key window has been redesigned to visually show its importance for the decryption and authentication functions. An eye has also been added to help users check for errors when they type it.
All the tutorial videos are now available from the “Getting started” section.
Two new “Getting started” cards have been added to help users install Privowny App on their mobile devices and to teach them how to block trackers.
A cross has been added in the tooltips guiding the tutorials in order to allow users to easily quit a tutorial midway if they wish to do so. The tutorials can always be started again later.

Two graphs have been added to the Dashboard. Users now have an overview of their passwords’ strength and can see which ones of the aliases they created are generating the most emails.

Notable bug fixes
The URLs for the companies’ websites in the Password Manager now work correctly, even when the URLs are entered without http or https.
The number of data collected in the Dashboard used to include the data entered manually as well. It is now fixed and the correct numbers are shown.
The Toolbar would sometimes remain visible even after logging out. It has been resolved.
There was some inconsistency between the numbers displayed in the Password Manager and the ones in the Dashboard. The error has been fixed.
The videos can now be controlled using the space bar (pause) and escape key (quit).
Known issue we are working on
Our Browser Extension stops working when on the “Password Required” window on https://www.pandora.com/settings/info. We are investigating a solution.

The Android app doesn’t allow new users to register anymore. Registration needs to happen on a desktop after installing Privowny App’s browser extension.
Privowny App’s dedicated keyboard has been replaced by a widget similar to the browser extension’s Smartfield Icon. Same functionalities, but easier access.
The setup of the app has been streamlined since fewer permissions are now needed.

Multiple bug fixes to improve the “Getting started” tutorials.
Decrypting data in the Data Manager now only shows the data at the time of the action but the data stays encrypted in the database. To see it again, users will need to decrypt it again (i.e. they will be asked to provide their Master Key).
There was an inconvenient delay after entering a piece of data manually for it to actually show up in the Data Manager. It has been fixed and it is now immediately added to the list.

Changing a Master Key is still an issue when users do it from another device. It works properly, but the user needs to manually log out and then log back in for it to be effective.
