With iOS 12, Apple introduced a new feature to autofill passwords directly from the top of your Apple keyboard. Privowny App uses this feature to give you a quick access to all your saved login credentials. With Privowny Autofill, enjoy easy logins, not just within Safari, but with any app that has made this feature available (including other browsers).
When you switch on “Autofill Passwords” in your device’s settings (under Passwords & Accounts) to enable Privowny Autofill, iCloud Keychain is automatically enabled as well. This is Apple’s solution to save and fill your passwords on your device. It is, however, only available on Apple devices (Mac, iPhone or iPad), unlike Privowny App, which gives you access to all your accounts across all your devices (Windows, Mac, Android device, iPhone, iPad, …). With Privowny App, even if you decide to change your device and switch brands, your login credentials will always be available. Furthermore, Privowny App offers a comprehensive solution to data privacy, enabling you, for instance, to generate alias email addresses on the go to protect your personal email address.
When you activate Privowny Autofill, we strongly recommend that you deselect iCloud Keychain to make Privowny App your default password manager. This will stop iCloud Keychain from asking to save your password at every login, as well as reduce the number of steps necessary to retrieve your credentials.
Keeping both iCloud Keychain and Privowny App selected can lead to a confusing and inferior user experience.
